Sky 'Daddy' Conwell, solo artist

Sky "Daddy" Conwell - Guitarist / Singer

One of the greatest compliments Sky has reveived as a solo guitarist and singer is not that he can play a bit of everything... but that he can play it all very well. Sky is diverse because he genuinely enjoys almost all types of American music. He sings and plays to the audience. Sky will happily play authentic acoustic classic rock, Country (traditional and more modern), folk, pop, oldies, instrumental, jazz, gospel, blues ... whatever the audience wants to hear. He loves being the center of attention and also enjoys playing soft background music. He plays for dancers, drinkers, diners, and spectators. Sky is not happy just strumming the chords - he often arranges songs to add the bass line, signature riffs, percussion, miniature guitar solos, among other elements.

Sky "Daddy" Conwell & Lonesome Valley

Sky plays guitar and sings in the Country Music band "Lonesome Valley". Lonesome Valley plays all styles of Country Music. Traditional Country, modern Country, outlaw Country, Country rock, bluegrass, rockabilly, and alternative Country are all fair game. They play mostly familiar covers, but also often throw in a few originals when appropriate. Songs are high energy and dance-able; and they always get the crowd reeling! Lonesome Valley has played in honkeytonks, street dances, barn dances, "dives", upscale bars, outdoor family events, and restaurants.

Sky "Daddy" Conwell & Off The Record

Sky leads the classic rock band named "Off The Record". Off the Record plays familiar classic rock songs if the 1960's, 1970's, and 1980's. The songs are always high in energy and very fun. The music is performed to get folks singing along, having fun, and of course - if so inclined - dancing. Artists the band covers include (but is not limited to) The Eagles, CCR, Tom Petty, Bob Segar, The Black Crowes, Journey, The Doors, Stevie Ray Vaughan, The Beatles, and The Rolling Stones.

Sky "Daddy" Conwell & The Mojo Daddies

Sky plays in the duo / trio "The Mojo Daddies", his newest acoustic guitar duo + project. The group's core is Sky and Bob Karney on acoustic guitars playing and singing jam-based rock, Country, blues, and soul. Often, they will include other instrumentalists to add dynamics, spice, and color - such as bass guitar, violin, percussion, and / or harmonica. The songs are sometimes the "deep tracks" and are always chosen as an avenue to explore exciting, improvised, unique, and unexpected "jams". Songs include covers by artists as diverse as The Grateful Dead, Ray Charles, Jimi Hendrix, Merle Haggard, The Allman Brothers, Jimmy Reed, Miles Davis, and Bob Dylan.

The Hillbilly Hooligans

The Hillbilly Hooligans play Sky's original rockabilly, Hillbilly, and surf tunes. This band was formed to highlight Sky's own songs in the style of rockabilly, hillbilly, and surf. They may throw in a cover of an old Buck Owens or Dick Dale tune here and there... but the focus is on Sky's original material. This band is fun, silly, original, and ... outrageous. Sky's songs are creative, catchy, dance-able, and often performed "tongue-in-cheek". This is a show that must be experienced to be understood.

Toco Loco

Toco Loco is a small band lead by Spanish guitar master Tony Cocilovo. Sky supports Tony on rhythm guitar and occasionally plays some leads too. They play Latin music of the borderlands - music from Mexico, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Southwest USA, and even Spain. The group can be a duo, trio, or quartet. Tony is a master at flamenco guitar, mandolin, and quatro. The shows often include fascinating history of the regions and the rich uptempo music of the regions.

Other Projects

Sky's entertainment minded brain is always working. It is always thinking up new unique projects and ideas for shows. He has written, produced, and directed musical plays, music tribute acts, and large-scale productions. Some of them include "The Soggy Bottom Band Plays the Music of 'O Brother Where Art Thou '", "The Day Music Died - Tribute to Buddy Holly, Richie Valens, The Big Bopper, and Dion", "Prescott's Blues Brothers", and "Classic Rock Heaven Band" - where John Lennon, Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison, Janis Joplin, and many other classic rock stars who died way too young came down from heaven to perform on earth as one united band to play a concert for us mortals stuck on earth! Who knows what Sky will think of next. Most of these are one-offs ... but Sky is certainly willing to do an encore with any of his shows!
